Oracle licensing depends on more than a list of installed products. Effective governance requires reliable infrastructure inventory, database edition and version details, deployment relationships, enabled options, feature-usage evidence, virtualization context, contract terms, and entitlement data. 1. Discovery and platform readiness
Quantive Technologies reviewed the ServiceNow Discovery components, Oracle discovery patterns, MID Server readiness, Software Asset Management Professional for Oracle capabilities, and the credentials required for the representative environment. The team confirmed the available Oracle DB on Unix pattern and validated the controlled access needed to read Oracle configuration files and execute approved database queries.
2. Pattern-based Oracle discovery
The Oracle DB on Unix pattern was used to identify the running database and collect key technical attributes.
